The Bahrain Football Association has officially appointed Czech Miroslav Soukup as the national team’s head coach for two seasons.
The contract was signed at the association’s headquarters in Riffa today in the presence of BFA board chairman Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, vice president Ali Al Buainain, and board members Hafedh Al Doseri, and Aref Al Abbasi.
Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa affirmed that the decision was reached after a thorough study of different coaches’ CVs where the Czech coach’s portfolio stood out.
The BFA president further asserted the association’s trust in the new coach to develop and reflect the Bahraini football’s level.
On his part, the newly appointed expressed his happiness with the given task to lead the Bahraini national team and stressed that he would exert his greatest efforts to develop the Bahraini football.
Soukup, who coached Yemen in 2014, previously led his country’s U-20 national team to the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup’s final in Canada.
